Due Date Time Sync Limitation

When using Pleexy with Google Tasks, you may notice that the time component of due dates is not synchronized. This means that while the date of your tasks will sync correctly, any specific time you set (like "2:30 PM") will not be carried over to Google Tasks.

Why Does This Happen?

This limitation exists because of Google Tasks API restrictions:

  • The Google Tasks API does not support time components in due dates

  • Only the date portion (year, month, and day) can be synchronized

  • This is a technical limitation of Google's API, not a Pleexy limitation

  • If you want to read the technical aspect of it, please read this article from Google

What This Means for You

When using Pleexy with Google Tasks:

  • Due dates will sync without time information

  • Tasks will default to all-day events in Google Tasks

  • The date portion of your tasks will still sync accurately

Best Practices

To work effectively with this limitation:

  1. Plan your tasks with date-only deadlines in mind

  2. If you need time-specific tasks, consider using task descriptions to note important times

  3. For time-critical tasks, you might want to use another task manager that supports time sync
