Understanding Task Title Behavior

When Pleexy syncs your tasks across platforms, you might notice that task titles don't automatically update when you change them. This is an intentional design choice to maintain your preferred task title structure and prevent unwanted changes.

How It Works

  • The initial task title is created based on your chosen title structure

  • After creation, the title remains stable even if you modify it in either platform

  • All other task properties (due dates, completion status, etc.) continue to sync normally

  • The task connection remains intact despite title changes

Benefits of This Approach

  1. Maintains Your Preferred Format: You can customize titles without worrying about them being overwritten

  2. Prevents Confusion: Avoids situations where different title structures might conflict

  3. Keeps Tasks Connected: The underlying connection stays active even with different titles

What Still Syncs?

Even though titles remain stable, these properties continue to sync:

  • Task completion status

  • Due dates

  • Labels

  • Priority levels

  • Other task properties - depends on the connection

Example

Let's say you have a task in OneNote that syncs to Todoist:

  1. Original title: "Meeting notes - Project Alpha"

  2. You change it in Todoist to: "Discuss Project Alpha timeline"

  3. The title stays as you changed it

  4. Marking it complete in either platform will still sync

This ensures that your manual edits aren’t accidentally lost due to syncing logic — giving you more control over how your tasks appear.
