How recent changes in Evernote's API are impacting Pleexy's functionality

If you've used Evernote's Pleexy connection in the last 6 months, you may have observed that the introduction of Evernote's "Real-Time Editing" feature has affected the speed of Pleexy's task updates.

In this article, we will explain the changes and how they impact Pleexy's ability to update notes and tasks. We will also provide you with temporary workarounds until a more permanent fix is available.

Pleexy can't access notes while they're open

Evernote's "Real-Time Editing" update introduced a constraint that blocks notes from being updated by external applications, such as Pleexy, while the note is open in the Evernote app or browser.

As a result, Pleexy is currently unable to update notes in real-time, leading to potential issues like checklist items taking too long to sync.

Workarounds

To mitigate the impact of these changes, we kindly request that you follow these temporary workarounds:

  1. Close the Note: After adding or completing a to-do in one of your notes, please make sure to close it in your Evernote app or browser. This will allow Pleexy to complete its updating process.

  2. Wait for 5 Minutes: Before reopening the note, we recommend waiting for at least 5 minutes to ensure that Pleexy has enough time to update the note effectively.

We understand the inconvenience caused by these changes and apologize for any disruption in your workflow. We are actively working on finding a more durable fix to address these issues.
